Amber grew up hearing her dad say, “You want it, go out and get it.” She took that to heart.
Amber grew up in Corpus Christi — Sunday menudo at grandma’s house, holiday gatherings with sixty-plus people crammed into a small house, board game nights with her uncle. Her parents moved the family to San Antonio when she was young, chasing better opportunities, and it was the right decision. Amber was one of the first in her family to get a higher education, driven by something her dad drilled into her from an early age: you want it, go out and get it.
What she wanted was coffee. She worked for a roaster during college and became passionate about the craft, earning her AG degree from Texas A&M. That experience led her to co-found a coffee company with a close friend, spending three years growing it from pop-ups and events to a brick-and-mortar shop.
Before that, she led cycling and hiking tours — what a colleague once perfectly described as “productions on wheels” — part technical, part relational, all focused on delivering the best possible experience. She also worked as a Project Manager for a nonprofit educational media organization, coordinating across web, book publishing, design, and film. Her first creative job was at a live production house in her college town, where she ran cameras, sound, and editing for live broadcast and regional clients.
At FieldWrk, Amber brings all her experience together. She coordinates production and travel logistics, schedules shoots, books crew, tracks budgets, and supports project management for both production and social media teams. When unexpected challenges come up, she stays calm and focused on solving problems while keeping relationships at the heart of her work.
Amber currently lives in Austin, where she hosts outdoor dinners in her courtyard a few times a year, runs, rides bikes, and walks her eleven-year-old Australian Shepherd. She makes an annual pilgrimage to Big Bend and catches shows whenever she can. And for what it’s worth, her go-to coffee order is an 8oz drip.
